Sunshine & Butterflies

About time I say to myself! To update my blog that is. It has been a busy few weeks of selling, sourcing stock & the dull job of updating records. After weeks of rain we finally have some sunshine, I have to say it slows me down somewhat! I have had a great weekend though and the sunshine certainly makes me smile. I went to a trade fair to source vintage stock and got some gorgeous items! A new supplier will be added to the list. I got lots of favourites, including butterfly brooches and pendants which my customers love. I dragged my husband a long but he found a bench to park himself on and only once needed to be reminded as to how I spend a lot of time stood around in his favourite specialist book shop! We wondered back through Spitalfields vintage market, so this was a perfect shopping day for me! We had a really relaxing lunch before heading home. Perfect.

Check out the present my husband got me on our shopping trip, I love it!

Hmm the cat tried to get in shot lol.

Its a trinket box! See it opened below.

So a big purchase of stock involved time taking photos and cataloguing items and I have not finished photos yet! I have listed just 12 items on Ebay and hope to add more later today. I wondered down to the local post office this morning with this weeks sales, a really nice walk in the sun to bonus! So very happy with the past few days work, I am just desperate to get some hand crafted things made as this part of the business has been neglected while I have concentrated on the vintage side. I wish I had more time in my week.  This week I will be organising stock for my June craft fair, which I am looking forward to so much. I love meeting customers and mixing with other craft people.

Well enjoy the sunshine, we never know how short lived it maybe in the UK he he. Take some advise from my wee boy (pic below) and stay in the shade!

Love A Day Like Today

So a typical British bank holiday rain & more rain! I do not think we have had a day without rain in weeks! It has been a good bank holiday weekend though, a mixture of work & play.  Saturday we went shopping & I picked up some great vintage stock to sell - I was over the moon with my finds in fact! I am also expecting a load of new stock this week, so pretty excited.  We also picked up our beautiful vintage clock which I love! We spotted it at a local craft centre and were waiting for it to be serviced.

What do you think?
Sunday we celebrated Nana's (my husbands grandmother) 99th birthday with a lovely family meal. A great day & great company, very relaxing.  So today I thought I needed to do some 'work' & even though I did not get through my over ambitious list, I did get a lot done. We needed a new printer, so we got one today and I finally got round to making some cards to put in with my Ebay parcels. I have created a new stock record so spent a significant time updating that, a dull job yet somewhat satisfying. Not being the most organised of people, when I do something like this I do feel rather pleased with myself. I am getting pretty good with the record keeping for someone who is nothing more than a creative scatterbrain .

Ebay customer cards all ready to go!

Organising some of this weeks listings

Packing parcels! I actually enjoy this :/

My Mum in law gave me this big bag of buttons! I can not wait to get amongst them & have lots of jewellery & craft ideas spinning around in my head!  I have also started some bottle pendants which I intend to take to my next craft fair, I will try and get some photos of them.

Bag of treasure!
Okay that's it for now will leave you with a few of this weeks best vintage finds. B.E.E. x

Hard not to keep this one, love it.

**Sold** before it was listed! Beauty.

Vintage Heaven & New Folksy Listings!

I seem to have caught up on a lot of work this weekend after a tired week & still had time to have fun!  First excitement of the week was the arrival of a load of new vintage items, this gives me a buzz! The only problem is I have to tell myself this is business and I can't keep any of it, easier said than done when you receive some beautiful items like I did this week. I always wonder what the story is behind each item, you can let your imagination run away with you. So 24 items listed today on Ebay myworld.ebay.co.uk/beadieeyededie and have many more for next week.

I have also listed 6 new items I have made to Folksy, some of which you have already had a sneak peek of on here. I have a good supply of items at the moment and will be drip feeding a few new things in soon. More wedding items coming up with the wedding season on the horizon. As usual I have too many projects on the go, so hopefully you will see some of them listed soon too, including a felt flower corsage and two glass pendants.
New Item I have made and listed on Folksy

I have had a lovely day yesterday with my better half, we went to Portobello Road which is simply vintage heaven! Lots and lots of antique shops and stalls, some amazing unique pieces. I did not actually buy anything, how's that for restraint! My husband got me a cute t shirt and some pinking sheers, so nothing vintage lol. We stopped for food, so some over indulgence before the healthy eating starts tomorrow (erm...again). It was one of those days where you actually say 'hey what a great day!'.

Lets hope it is a good week that follows! Love B.E.E.

Happy Easter!

I hope you are all having a very happy Easter & that the Easter bunny has been generous with the chocolate! I am enjoying the long weekend, it has maybe not been as productive as planned but I have had some much needed r&r and chocolate!  Feeling very motivated & positive about all things to do with the business, if it does not excite you its not worth doing I say.  It is ebay listing day today, a big order of vintage items still has not turned up so only a small number of things new today. Some really cute items for you to check out: myworld.ebay.co.uk/beadieeyededie.

I have made a couple of handmade pieces which I need to take photos of! I have lots of new ideas and as usual have too many things running round in my head. Is it me or are creative minds messy? A bit structure is needed I think! The weekend has  a few distractions so far including too lunches out, one with my lovely Nana (my husbands Nana) and then yesterday we went to shopping mall and had a bite to lunch. I did not actually get any shopping done as with husband in tow when he bought his books it was time for home!  Does he not know a woman needs to shop? My only fix was another purchase of vintage stuff on line, cool but not the same.    My other big distraction is watching the birds and Cyril our squirrel visitor, he is there everyday now. The kitten (well massive 9 month old) was stunned when he saw him, it was so funny.

Squirrel watching!

Thinking about a vintage market in Essex or London sometime soon, what do you think? Like I said many ideas! So I am looking forward to another short week at the office job, I need to make a to do list for the week, starting with wrapping parcels Monday for Tuesdays post office visit. I need to do a wee workshop tidy and I have just decided I am going to fill a note book just with my scrambled brain ideas! Anyway more photos and updates soon.....

What Have I Been Up To????

Yes long time no blog!!! I have been mainly working on the vintage side of the business, I have been totally caught up in it! Sourcing and selling has been a bit time consuming, well maybe more distracting lol. So it is going well and I am hoping that soon this can be my biggest source of income, I love all things vintage and think it marries well with the craft side of my business.

Little post boy spoils my two basket system!

Beautiful daffodil field today at the nature reserve :)

Spring is well and truly here! I hope you are appreciating the exceptionally good weather in the UK as much as I am, a little bit of sunshine certainly lifts the mood. I am loving the lighter nights too, it makes me feel as if I have more hours in my day yay! We took a walk around our local nature reserve today, it is only open for selected days of the year. It was lovely to get some fresh air and perfect peace and quiet only disturbed by beautiful bird song. It has just dawned on me that it is Good Friday this week lol! A four day week then woohoo! I hope that I will get a couple of packages of vintage stuff this week so will be spending time pricing and taking photos. The back end of the week I will be listing stuff and eating chocolate ha. Anyway I must get back to the parcels!

Fusion & Felt

I have had a somewhat mixed week, good days and not so good days! I have a couple of unfinished projects to show you or should I say work in progress as that sounds better?  Basically the two projects in progress will make up two new collections: Glass Fusion Jewellery & Felted Accessories. Both give me masses of creative freedom and excite me and of course felting goes back to my textile roots - I studied textiles at art college.  Glass fusion is also a new technique for me so my creations are going to be very organic and will grow with me and my skills.

Glass Fusion Pendants - work in progress

Two fused glass pendants are ready to mount on bails and I have still not made my mind up if I should put them on silver chains or fine beaded necklaces. The felted corsages and hair slide and need the attachments fitted. I also want to make packaging/cards for the felted pieces. I will take better photos when everything is finished!

I had a birthday last week, so another year older and noticing a few more wrinkles on my face he he. I was spoilt by my husband, friends and family of course. I have this pile of craft related books now to add to my reading list :). I can never say I am bored!

Here's to a good week ahead for us all.

Sale, Sunshine & Spring.

Way too tired for words but keeping busy and focused!  A quiet weekend but I have managed to update business plans and post new items to Folksy. I have also created a Sale section as I had a bunch of items which are due to expire on the 1st of March, so time to grab a bargain before the listings end!

The sun has been shining into the house today which lifts the spirits and makes the kitties happy. Birds are feeding in our garden again and we have put nuts out today, I am hoping our squirrel visitor will be back again too. Also our daffodils are popping up, spring is really on its way and as it is my favourite time of year I can not wait. I am going to put lots of plans to paper over the next week, it is good to set goals and to have dreams.

My little man enjoying the sun :)
